About Gorkha Boys FC
Gorkha Boys Football Club was founded in a small one room apartment of Netaji Nagar, New Delhi in late eighties to bring about a sense of identity among the Gorkha Community and unite them.
It all happened due to the efforts of one man Henry V. Kumar who formed a team called Young Gorkhas, the earlier avatar of Gorkha Boys FC on 2nd October, 1987. He has been a constant source of energy and motivation since then. Even now, he coaches his boys with same passion and energy.
The Club played against nationally renowned rival in the nineties but almost stopped working till recently. Then came the revival in 2011 with support from Gorkha Janmukti Morcha and individual donors.
The Gorkha Boys are back.
Gorkha Boys holds practice sessions and friendly matches every Sunday in the Navyug School grounds in Sarojini Nagar of New Delhi. The team is planning to go to Kalimpong to play in Independence Cup in the coming weeks.
