The Dimapur Gorkha Union (DGU) commemorated the 67th Martyrs Day of the first Gorkha Martyr Major Durga Malla

Dimapur, August 31 (MExN): The  Dimapur Gorkha Union (DGU) commemorated the 67th Martyrs Day of the first Gorkha Martyr Major Durga Malla (INA) on August 25 and in fond memory of the Naga Kargil Martyr late Capt. N.Kenguruse and other gallant martyrs with blood donation drive at Dimapur club with Zaleo Rio, Secretary PHE & Fisheries  and Hokivi Chishi, president, DCC&I as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
A press note from the Chairman, Dimapur Gorkha Union Kumar Subba stated that more then 400 esteemed member’s o the DGU volunteered to donate blood as a mark of respect and tribute to the gallant martyrs who made their supreme sacrifices for the nation or our better tomorrow. The concept behind the commemoration was to donate blood and save many precious lives.
 The programme was chaired by  Dipak Lama and the programme started with an invocation by Fr. Joe Mariadhas, Director, Shalom Rehabilitation Centre, Chumukedima. DGU Chairman, Kumar Subba subba read out a brief background of Major Durga Malla and Capt. N.Kenguruse.
