8 Dec,Gangtok: With more and more of adventure sports coming in Sikkim, one may raise a concern about the safety of the adventure lovers. “Safe flight” being a primary motto of Sikkim Paragliding Association, it had took a conscious step forward to provide with all the safety measures for their clients.
In the move of providing safety, 5 members and pilots of Sikkim Paragliding Association were provided with basic training on First Aid on 7th December 2011 at STNM Hospital by Dr. Dewan, Senior Doctor and Orthopedic Surgeon of STNM Hospital. The members were briefed about the immediate measures to be taken in case of any casualties during the flight. The basic techniques included airway management, breathing, transportation of injured ones, immediate measures in case of bleeding etc.
CP Pradhan General Secretary Sikkim Paragliding Association (SPA) adds “We want that each of our pilots and members are trained to deal with the unexpected and contingency plans for emergencies are made with them prior to the flight. Each of them will be trained to offer basic care with any minor health issues” informs a press release.
