Kalimpong.Mukesh Sharma: The faction of Gorkhaland Task Force (GTF) and Bharatiya Gorkha Parisangh (BGP) under the leadership of R Moktan today met with the Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda at Chandigarh. They have already met with the Chief Ministers of Jammu & Kashmir (J&K), Omar Abdulla and Himachal Pradesh, Prem Kumar Dhumal during their Uttarakhand, J&K and Himachal tour.
During today’s meet they enlightened CM Hooda about the history of Gorkhaland and their need for it. The 7 member team highlighting the 3(A) Act of the Indian Constitution which is meant for the national identity and national security of the Indian Gorkhas explained Hooda on why they want Gorkhaland and why there is no any alternative to it.
Reciprocating to their talks, Hooda mentioning that he is well aware of the Gorkhaland issue notified that soon he will be discussing about how to a take a positive step regarding this matter.
Similarly, the GTF also visited the residence of the CM of Punjab, Parkash Singh Badal at Chandigarh. On Badal’s absence they were requested by the Superintendent, Amarnath Bhirdi to submit the Gorkhaland memorandum in the Chief Minister’s Office. Bhirdi also signed Badal’s copy along with 3 other books presented by the GTF. The BGP President, Suresh Singh Thapa and Treasurer Ganesh Sharma were also present in the faction.
