Mukesh Sharma: In order to make the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) and the Gorkhaland as the golden bird we have accepted the GTA as a mission,” stated the Naari Morcha Core Committee President, Asha Gurung during the election campaign meet for the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) candidate, Kalyan Dewan from the 41 No. Nimbong- Gitabling Constituency held on July 26, 2012 at Barbot.Tagging the independent candidate of the same Constituency, Sanchabir Subba as a stigma to the GJM she mentioned that Subba shall never be accepted by the Morcha. The President most of the time spoke pin pointing Subba during her 1 hour speech. “We shall first develop Subba Constituency,” she declared. Gurung also alleged that Subba, who went against the Morcha and filed for the nominations as an independent candidate, is going around speaking the words of GJM. She also charged that Subba who was with the Morcha for the last 4 years did much corruption and is now contesting the elections with those funds.Further, Gurung speaking about Terai- Dooars said that its inclusion under GTA will be the GJM’s main priority because the Morcha is still upset about just 5 mouzas being included. After the 17 uncontested wins of the Morcha candidates, the State Government is now well aware of the Morcha’s strength, she stressed.Likewise, Kalyan Dewan in his turn addressing the gathering expressed that he was surprised when his name was announced for the candidature and when Subba filed for nominations as an independent candidate; he was filled with more enthusiasm. Every person must take GTA as a mission so that in the future when a separate State is attained it should stand as an example in the country, he asserted. “Though I stay in the town area still I heartily accept to serve the people of the remote areas and understand their pain and needs,” stated Dewan. Through GTA it is necessary that economic developments should take place, he concluded. The day was also addressed by Passang Sherpa and Samir Subba.
