Kalimpong Independence Day Celebration: Best school parade to be awarded

Kalimpong|Mukesh Sharma: An Independence Day Celebration Committee meeting under the Chairmanship of the President Norden Lama was held today at Syama Devi Mandir Bhawan. Janmukti Student Teacher Organisation (JSTO) Secretary Hari Dahal along with the representatives of the 24 schools of Kalimpong, and members from different associations and organisations were present.The meeting decided that the Gorkha Territorial Administration Deputy Chief Col Ramesh Alley shall be present as the Chief Guest on the day. The best parade performing school will be awarded with cash and trophy which was stopped during last three years and the participating schools will also be presented with gifts.JSTO has been shouldered with the responsibility for the parade and the Kalimpong Sports Association with that of the football tournament. The draw for the parade was also done in the day.
