Mukesh Sharma: Sumitra Rai (aged 55) a resident of Sangsey, Kalimpong lost her life while 12 others sustained injuries when their vehicle met with an accident at Tar Khola today. The commander vehicle bearing no WB 79/ 2380 had 13 commuters including the driver. The other passengers were driver Amit Rai (22), Sancha Bahadur Rai (56), Sujit Tamang (2 ½), Prakash Rai (36), Manjali Rai (36), Sharmila Tamang (13), Sukmaya Tamang (42), Diki Tamang (20), Srijana Rai (12), Bimla Rai (29), Nirmala Tamang (20) and Sukmaya Tamang (40), all residents of Sangsey.Deceased Sumitra Rai is said to be the owner of the vehicle. 3 of the injured, Prakash Rai, Manjali Rai and Sujit Tamang are referred to a hospital at Siliguri while the rest are being treated at Kalimpong District hospital.
