Siliguri, 27 October: West Bengal Governor Mr
M K Narayanan today praised the chief minister Miss Mamata Banerjee for
taking initiative to address the Hill tangle. Mr Narayanan said the
chief minister had done a commendable job to resolve the Hill crisis.
“Mamata has done a great job," he told reporters at Bagdogra airport when asked about the role of the chief minister on the Darjeeling issue during her recent visit.
The Governor said he had no objection to meet the Gorkha Jan Mukti Morcha (GJMM) leaders in Darjeeling.“If they want to meet me then I can talk to them,” he added, before heading towards Darjeeling.
According to senior Darjeeling district officials, the Governor would stay in Darjeeling till 14 November. sns
