GJM holds first workers’ meeting in Chamurchi

The Chamurchi unit of the Gorkha Janmukti Morcha today conducted its first workers’ meeting at Chamurchi Bangla Primary School. The meeting was attended by GTA member Jyoti Kumar Rai, GJM workers’ union DTDPLU legal advisor Trilok Chandra Roka, GJM central committee member Nepal Barman, Sandip Chettri and others.

The GJM claimed several members of rival parties entered the party fold during the meeting. CPI (M) leader Nur Hussain along with 35 supporters from Chamurchi tea garden also joined the GJM. Meanwhile, Raj Lama and Shivraj Lama of the Congress have also entered the GJM fold.

GTA member Jyoti Kumar Rai appreciated the works being done by the GJM in Chamurchi Gram Panchayat and appealed to take more initiatives to increase the party’s influence in the Dooars. GJM central committee member Sandip Chettri proposed a number of development works in Chamurchi GP areas.(EOIC)
