With
incidents of rape and violence against women rising across the country,
the Darjeeling region too has started reporting such crimes over the
past few years. In another instance of this heinous crime, a 20-year-old
youth has been accused of attempting to rape a minor in Mirik Busty.Police sources said Aman Rai attacked and attempted to rape a 12-year-old girl of the village when she had stepped out of her house to answer nature’s call on Monday night. Aman is absconding and the police have launched a manhunt to nail him. (EOIC)
