Due to an acute shortage of cleaning
staff at Mirik District Hospital, the medical staff today conducted a
cleanliness drive to clean both inside and outside the hospital. The
hospital premises have been littered by unwanted ferns and bushes along
with the unattended thrash since a long time, owing to which the
hospital staff conducted the cleanliness drive on their own, according
to Dr. Richard Nerjoneri.
He informed the hospital needs about six
cleaning staff, but currently it only has only one person due to which
cleaning the hospital has become a tedious task. “We demand the
administration to look into the issue seriously and recruit more
cleaning staff for the hospital. The hospital needs to be neat and
clean, both outside and inside, but the absence of permanent cleaning
staff and GLP, is making it difficult to maintain cleanliness,” Dr.
Richard informed.(EOIC)
