Gangtok,21 May: The Sikkim Democratic
Front SDF party after winning the majority of 22 seats have made a
history by running its government for 5th term (Heading for 25 years).
The leader of the winning party Shri Pawan Chamling has entered the hallmark of becoming the longest serving Chief Minister in India
conceding West Bengal Ex CM Late Jyoti Basu (1977-2000).
The oath taking ceremony was today held at Ashirwad Bhawan of Raj Bhawan in the capital which was graced by the Governor of Sikkim Shri Sriniwasan Patil. During the ceremony 11 cabinet were sworn-in as council of ministers, namely Shri DD Bhutia , Shri GM Gurung, Shri DT Lepcha, Shri Somnath Poudyal, Shri R B Subba, Shri Ugen Gyasto Bhutia, Shri Tshering Wangdi Lepcha, Smt Tulshi Devi Rai, Shri NK Subba, Mr. AK Ghatani, Shri SB Subedi.

Hailing Pawan Chamling's fifth consecutive win in assembly elections, Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi tweeted: "Congratulations and best wishes to Pawan Chamling on being sworn in as Sikkim CM.We will work together for Sikkim's progress."
