The State Bank of India, (SBI), Kurseong
branch today celebrated SBI Day in Kurseong. A program was organized in
the premises of the bank to observe the day, where five different
persons from Kurseong region were felicitated including a journalist,
for their different activities and contribution to the bank.
Addressing the program, SBI Kurseong
branch chief manager Pinaki Mitra said on July 1 1955, under the Bank
Act, the SBI was formed, since than it has been constantly engaged in
serving the people and its customers. “Just like a person reaches
greater heights, the more his responsibility is increases, in the same
vein the responsibilities of the bank has increased,” he observed
Branch Deputy Manager Suman Sharma said
since its establishment, the SBI has been working for the interest of
the people and its customers on different aspects including insurance
services. Hence, this is the reaso the SBI has been appreciated by all
the different sections of society.

Association secretary Shankar Rauth, all the five people from Kurseong
region, who were felicitated today by the bank, have played an important
role in the different programs and activities of the SBI Kurseong
branch.

Pancham senior journalist from Kurseong, Subash Tamang, resident of
Fatak Dara, Kurseong and Pramod Chettri, Bhuwan Singh and Anil Manger,
from Sittiong region under Kurseong sub division area.(EOIC)
