Kesharinath Tripathi, Darjeeling MP SS Ahluwalia and GTA chief Bimal
Gurung will be among the dignitaries attending the 103rd death
anniversary of Bhagini Nivedita at the Gorkha Rangmanch Bhavan on
October 13.
A statement released by the GTA today
said the governor is expected to reach Darjeeling at 4:00pm on Monday
and head straight to the venue. Various programmes including the Nritya
Bandana by artistes of the Kanchenjunga Nritya Academy and songs on
Sister Nivedita by the GTA information and cultural affairs department
are to be performed during the function.
Ahluwalia and Gurung are also expected
to address the gathering during the event. The MP will also attend a
meeting with the Rastriya Sevika Samiti in Darjeeling on Sunday.
Ahluwalia will remain in Darjeeling till October 15 during which he is
expected to attend a number of meetings with GTA officials and other
