Press Trust of India | Gangtok : Heavy rain is lashing various parts of Sikkim for the past two days, ushering in cold conditions in the state.
Rainfall has occurred at most places in Sikkim, with Gangtok and Mangan receiving one cm each during the last 24 hours, the meteorological office said in a release.
The maximum temperature today declined by two degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature remained two degrees Celsius above normal due to overcast conditions for the better part of the day, it said.
Mazitar in East District recorded the highest maximum temperature at 24.1 degrees Celsius, while Gangtok was the coldest with minimum temperature at 8.6 degrees Celsius, the met office said.
Light rain is likely to occur at isolated places in Sikkim over the next 24 to 48 hours, the release said.
