CBI tells Calcutta High Court ''Nicole Tamang is alive''

Kolkata, Jun 23: The CBI today told Calcutta High Court that Nicole Tamang, the prime accused in Madan Tamang murder case, ''is alive''.
The revelation came on a Habeas Corpus petition, filed by Nicole's wife Prema seeking the whereabout of his husband.

CBI counsel Himangshu Dey submitted a report before a two-judge Division Bench comprising Chief Justice Joynarayan Patel and Mr Justice Asim Kumar Roy that ''Nicole is hiding in Nepal and he was seen crossing Indo-Nepal border on March 15. '' Mr Dey also told the court that interception of the mobile phone of Nicole's family revealed that '' He is in Nepal and alive ''.

The CBI will soon issue a ''red corner'' notice through Interpol, he told the court.
