Talking to mediapersons here, party state unit president Rahul Sinha said, "We have a strong objection for inclusion of 'Gorkhaland and territorrial' word in the agreement and the deal among the Centre, the state government and the GJM would not resolve the impasse of the hills and the move was a step ahead towards division of Bengal." "The agreement will help the GJM leadership to demand a separate state in near future and it will also inspire the separatist forces of the other states to ask for similar demands," he added.
"Beyond some handful leader of the present Trinamool Congress Government, the people of the state are in dark about the agreement," he stated. "The GJM had supported the Trinamool Congress in the last assembly elections for wresting powers from the Left Front government and in reply the Trinamool gifted a separate state to them," he added. "The previous Left Front government had kept deals between the Tata Motors for setting up small car projects at Singur a secret and now the ruling Trinamool government was doing the same, " Mr Sinha said.
"The BJP would not allow division of Bengal again and after looking at the agreement our party activists will take on the street if necessary," he added.
