The Dimapur Gorkha Union (DGU) commemorates the 67th Martyr’s Day of the first Gorkha Martyr Major Durga Malla (INA) on August 25

Dimapur, August 24 (MExN): The Dimapur Gorkha Union (DGU) commemorates the 67th Martyr’s Day of the first Gorkha Martyr Major Durga Malla (INA) on August 25, 2011. A press note issued by DGU stated that in fond memories of the valiant Kargil Martyr Captain N.Kenguruse and other gallant martyrs, a blood donation by the members of the Dimapur Gorkha Union will be held at Dimapur Club. Around 350 esteemed members of the DGU will be donating blood as a mark of respect and tribute to the gallant martyrs.
The DGU stated that it remembers all the other gallant martyrs, brave heroes from Nagaland, who laid down their lives and shed their precious blood for our better tomorrow. “When our gallant heroes can sacrifice their lives for our better tomorrow then why can’t we donate our blood for our better today? The Blood donated by the esteemed members of the DGU on this auspicious day is a tribute to all the martyrs for their gallant sacrifices made for the Country,” DGU further stated in the note.
