Mamata lists her govt's achievement

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tabled a book in the Assembly containing her government's 'achievement' in 90 days.
The book listed, among others, the tripartite agreement on Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA), the package announced for the people in Maoist affected Junglemahal, Singur land issue and creating “massive” employment opportunities, as the government's achievements.
With the agreement on GTA and packages for Junglemahal, her government was able to ensure peace in both the hills and Junglemahal, Banerjee said.
In only 90 days, the government was also able to create around 80,000 employment opportunities, she said, adding the target for the first year was about 2.31 lakh job creation and in five years 10 lakh jobs.
In Singur, her government was able to take back the possession of land, “occupied” by Tata Motors. The matter is now in court and once it was settled, the government would go ahead with the future course of action, Banerjee said.

Banerjee also said her government never compromised with the law and order and no major violence had taken place since the Trinamool Congress-Congress coalition government assumed office.
Political interference in the areas of police administration, health and education was put to an end and several important decisions were made in housing, urban development and other infrastructure development, she claimed.
The government would set up knowledge bank to keep a track on brain drain from the state and to make sure to bring them back in need, the chief minister said.
Pointing that the modernised NSC Bose International Airport would be ready by 2012, Banerjee said works were on to make a study on feasibility for setting up a number of small airports in the state connecting different regions.
The Sundarbans would be developed as a major tourist destination undertaking a project jointly with Bangladesh with the help of World Bank, she added.
