Dancers from Russia and Ukraine will burn off calories in Siliguri

Siliguri, Dec. 30: Dancers from Russia and Ukraine will burn off calories in Siliguri tomorrow night when the town rings in 2012.
Hotels and entertainment parks have lined up dancers from abroad to dish up the best before revellers when the New Year dawns.
Performance by an Ukrainian dancer will be the highlight of the party at Uttarayon Township. Couples have to pay Rs 2,500 to join the “31 December Big Night Blast”, which is organised in association with The Telegraph.
Variety of drinks, from scotch to malt, snacks and buffet will be on the platter. To pump up the adrenaline, there would be DJ Sumit and Zodiac dance troupe from Calcutta.
“The event will be organised at the ground opposite Orchid restaurant where we expect around 1,000 people. Security will be tightened to keep away party poopers” said Abhijit Banerjee, who is associated with Uttarayon.
For stags, the rate is Rs 1,500. “The entry is free for children up to nine years and Rs 1,000 will be charged for those aged between 10 and 16,” said Banerjee.
The December cold is set to wane at Barsana Hotel where fireworks will light up the sky when the clock begins to strike 12 tomorrow. The hotel located on Khaprail Road in Matigara will hold “FARENHITE 2012” in association with The Telegraph.
“We will have a dance troupe of famous Bollywood choreographer Ganesh Acharya and an item dancer from Mumbai for the party tomorrow. Around 300 people will attend the event. DJ Adroid from Calcutta will also be present to dazzle the crowd,” said Prasun Nath, a representative of the hotel.
“Our stewards will be dressed in black and serve Mongolian cuisine and other dishes. The visitors will be treated to desserts from our bakery.”
More than 120 couples have already reserved their berths in Barsana where the celebrations will start at 8pm.
Savin Kingdom will also be packed with merry-making men and women to welcome the New Year Day. The entertainment park has christened the event as “New Year’s Eve Hawain Dhamaka”, of which The Telegraph is a partner.
“While a Russian dancer will be setting the stage on fire, the crowd can relish Indian and continental vegetarian food. An item dancer, a troupe and DJ from Calcutta will also perform tomorrow,” said Ankur Jajodia, who is associated with Savin.
He said around 1,500 people would troop into the event. The charges will be Rs 1,500 for a couple and Rs 1,000 for stags to enjoy the blast that starts at 8.30pm. The party will be complete with fireworks and a laser show at midnight.
Savin will host one more year-end party at KBS Galaxy. The visitors will be offered 23 varieties of food — Indian, Chinese and continental dishes — at Midnight Bell-2012.
“We will have item dancers, DJ and dance troupes to perform. Bartenders from Calcutta will make various cocktails and attend to guests at counters. Laser show and fire works are the other attractions on the offer,” said Sanjoy Goswami, the director of KBS Galaxy.
“We will charge Rs 750 per couple and no stag will be allowed. Elaborate security arrangements will be made at the venue. Women security personnel will be posted to guard the party where the expected footfall is around 1,000.”
