Jalpaiguri (WB), Dec 7 (PTI) Five persons, including a woman, were killed and eight injured when a jeep collided head on with a mini truck in Dhupguri area of Jalpaiguri district, the police said today. Three persons belonging to one family died instantaneously and 10 were injured when the accident occurred last night at Moranga Chowpatty. The three dead were identified as Srish Kumari Burman (65), Surjyaman Burman (40) and Purno Burman (70). Two others died during treatment today in North Bengal Medical College Hospital in Siliguri and Jalpaiguri Hospital, the sources said adding they were yet to be identified. Another injured, whose condition was stated to be serious, was being treated in Jalpaiguri hospital. Drivers of both the vehicles were injured.
