Kalimpong 29January:On the concluding day of three-days New Year fest of Himalayan communities the coordinator of the ‘The Assembly of Sikkim Monasteries", S Wangdi said in the present scenario buddhist religion people are misguided regarding the real Karmapa. He appealed to the public not listen to the rumors and any of the issues in the political vested interests. He also said there are some sections of people who mix religion into politics and misguide people. Adding further he stressed that the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Trinley Thaye Dorje is the real Karmapa and he demanded for his real seat in Rumtek Gumpa (Sikkim) for the prosperity of Buddhism. For accessibility of HH to the people, he added that all the people of Buddhist religion should come forward to support Karmapa to his real seat at Rumtek.
Eariler during the programme the chief Guest of the programme His Holiness, the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, Trinley Thaye Dorje emphasized the importance of the New Year and He went on to pray for the safety of all sentient beings. He further said that He would pray that the coming year brings joy and spiritual prosperity to all. “I pray for world peace and may patience dwell in every heart.” The constant chants and prayers filled the atmosphere with a strong positive verve. He further added, “Buddha is compassion, and if you have wisdom without compassion then it can be dangerous. As wisdom can be used in a wrong way and similarly, if you have compassion without wisdom then it is a waste. However, if you have both then only it is a balance.” The New Year fest has been organized by the Tamang Buddhist Association, Kaffer and Tamang Youth Association, Kalimpong.
