Sunil Chhetri will not play the match against Bayern Munich, but The All India football Federation (AIFF) have given him a reason to smile. Meanwhile, Snehadevi Reddy and Fatehdeep Singh are going to lead the Indian team in the IC Club under-16 Challenge Finals tennis tournament in Adelaide, Australia, which will take place between Jan. 10 to 14. The other members of team India are Shashank Nautiyal and Rimpledeep Kaur. Wg. Cdr. P. F. Montes is going to be the captain. The Hindu reported that the Indian team left yesterday night for the tournament.

Coming to cricket, Dean Jones blamed Indian bowling attack for India’s poor show unlike all who targeted the famous Indian batting line up. According to a Times Of India report, he said that to win a Test match a team needs to take 20 wickets and looking at the current Indian bowling line up it’s highly unlikely that they will take these many wickets. Jones also came up with a suggestion that India should split the  the Test and limited-overs captaincy. He said that MS Dhoni waits for the opposition to make mistakes and this formula is good for the ODIs, but for test, a captain needs to be more attacking.

Meanwhile, Australian coach Mickey Arthur said that playing Rohit Sharma in the third Test may backfire for India. He said that his footwork cannot be trusted on the bouncy Perth wicket. Speculations are made that Virat Kohli will be dropped from the Indian team after his continuous failures in test matches, reports TOI. Arthur also said that Sharma will have to improve his back foot play to have any chance of scoring runs at Perth.

Kris Srikkanth came out in support for MS Dhoni’s captaincy in a report by Indian Express and said that it’s the Indian batting that should be blamed for the poor show in Australia not the captaincy. Dhoni’s captaincy has come under lots of criticism from the former players. Ian Chappell blamed Dhoni for being too negative and not helping his bowlers when they needed him the most.
