Hill Congress demands SRC or UT

Darjeeling: The only key for Darjeeling’s problem to be solved is either by the forming of SRC or UT. Hill congress is in favors of second SRC or UT said Hill Congress Town Committee president PT Lawrence. During 1987 District Congress under the presidency of Rustam Ali the resolution of SRC was passed and in the year 1991 when Narshima Rao was the President of India he had also passed the resolution of SRC. This is why the Hill Congress is in favor of SRC he said. During the time of agitation in 1986 when Subash Ghising was running the agitation for the demand of separate state Gorkhaland at this time the Prime Minister of India Rajeev Gandhi had given the offer of UT to Subash Ghising but Subash Ghising denied to accept it said Laurence. Hill Congress demand for the formation of SRC or UT in which Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Kurseong, Mirik, Siliguri, Doars and Bengal – Assam Boarder Golpara has to be included concluded Laurence.
