Kalimpong.Mukesh Sharma: The Indo Tibetan Higher Secondary School today organized its Annual Award function along with other sports activities. The Kalimpong MLA, Dr. Harka Bahadur Chettri presided the occasion as the Chief Guest whereas the Kalimpong Sub Divisional Officer, LN Sherpa was present as the Guest of Honour. During today’s programme the students who have excelled academically were awarded by the guests. Also during the sports activities a throw ball and volley ball match was also held between the students.
The School’s Principal Dhiren Chandra Wigh informing about the School said that the Indo Tibetan Higher Secondary School has been recognized as Higher Secondary this year itself and the school offers the study of Sociology in the 11th standard. The introduction of this subject is first of its kind in the schools of Kalimpong, he added. Later, the Kalimpong MLA declared that he will be next year granting an amount of Rs 2.5 lakhs from the MLA fund in order to construct a new classroom.
