Kalimpong|Mukesh Sharma: The West Bengal State Government is trying to remove the hills from the State, alleged the Communist Party of Marxist (India) (CPM), politician, Tara Sundas. 5000 posts for Junior Police were vacant at West Midnapore, Bankura and Purulia for which the required criterion was Class 8th pass. But in Darjeeling to get into the same post, the required qualification is of Class 10th pass. 10, 000 posts for the National Volunteer Force (NVF) were requested for application but there was no mention of the Darjeeling hills. Recently in April 18, 2012 the Darjeeling hills were allocated 247 seats out of 2, 300 for the post of Home Guard, but again no applications have been issued for the same till date. Further charging that the Government is being bias, Sundas questioned that isn’t Darjeeling a part of West Bengal. Why different rules are being followed for the hills and the plains? This system needs to be changed, he asserted. The State Government is providing many facilities in order to deploy the School students in the Army in Bankura, Purulia and Jungle Mahal, but the Gorkhaland Personnel (GLP) who have been serving the society since years are being deprived of such facilities, he underlined.
Likewise, he notified that the CPM were working towards the regularization of the 3, 472 Adhoc workers, but this has also been disrupted after the Trinamool Congress came into power. If these employees are not regularized then the Government should grant them PF and Pension insurance, demanded the CPM politician.
