Bhakta Raj Acharya

Born in 1942, Bhakta Raj Acharya grew up in the tea estate of Doars in India where his mother worked as a wage labourer. Having lost his tather at an early age, Bhakta had to give up his academic dreams, in order to make ends meet.
However, a musically inclined Bhakta, during the course of his life soon discovered where his true passion lay and after a great deal of struggle finally moved to Kathmandu in search of greener pastures.  
A rare talent that he was, Bhakta won the gold medal in National level singing competition (Rashtriya Geet Sammelan) in 1973, after which he joined Radio Nepal. During his career that spanned over 16 years, Bhakta recorded more than 450 songs. However, in an instance nothing short of tragic, the career of Bhajan Shiromani Bhakta Raj Acharya came to an abrupt end.

Synopsis
Even as a young boy, Bhakta had known nothing than to love and appreciate music. Every step that he took in the coarse, hardship filled trail of his life, was a step to fuel that undying passion. Unfortunately, as fate had it, this passion that defined his very existence was cut short in a tragic incident that changed the sole purpose, course and meaning of life.
Acharya is a journey of a musical genius. A true story of his determination, struggle and perpetual courage, a journey that promise to turn back the pages of history to tell an untold story of a son, a father, a legend, Bhakta Raj Acharya.

Acharya, a film based on the life story of Bhajan Shiromani Bhakta Raj Acharya of Nepal will be its first major venture.
