GTA Sabhasad Meeting held | Political and personal buzz hover Dr Chettri

Mukesh Sharma: A meeting of the GTA Sabhasad took place today at the GJM party office. Informing about the meet, Dr Harka Bahadur Chettri said that the meet discussed about the future plan of action regarding the court case related to the agitation. Dr Chettri notified that he met with the Legal Ministry and handed over all the files related to the GTA agreement to the Legal Minister. It may be mentioned that though all the cases related to the GTA has been dismissed, till date not proper legal formalities have been carried out for the same.Further he added that the Standing Committee has decided to construct 433 houses for the minority community in the hills in which 144 houses comes under Kalimpong.  The Housing Ministry has also give green signal for the construction of 1800 houses which were affected due to the cyclone Aila and the September 18 earthquake, he told.

The GJM Spokesperson cum Kalimpong MLA, Dr Harka Bahadur Chettri is in the news much lately due to both political and personal reason. The news of him drifting away from the GJM and his 2nd marriage has put him under the public scanner in the hills.When asked about it, Dr Chettri today clarified that both of the charges are just rumours. He claimed that he is not seen in the hills much often because he is busy at Kolkata discussing and deliberating about the schemes which are to be introduced in the hills soon. Further, he said that those who have been spreading the baseless rumours should accompany him to Writers’ Building, Kolkata and get a clear picture of what he is engrossed in. “The opinion of me drifting away from the Morcha is totally wrong”, he added.Speaking on the rumours related to his personal life, Dr Chettri opined that it might be some plan of conniving people. “I am very much engrossed with my work, hence I suggest to all those who are spreading the rumours to realize their duties and work according and let me work, too,” he added.
