The Kalimpong Municipality from next month will be taking actions against those who have illegally set up multi storey buildings. This was informed by the Municipality President, LB Pariyar today. The Municipality will be issuing notices to all the illegal structures, hearings will be done and afterwards they will be dismantled. Due to less man power, the Municipality will first inspect the illegal building constructions. Further, the Municipality has also decided to remove the vendors who set up stalls on beds outside the Haat Bazaar Stall.Pariyar advised the public not to go against the law and order of the Municipality and added that cooperation from the public is a must in order to beautify the town.He also said that buildings upto 5 storeys are allowed to be build, but if the number exceeds then actions will be taken. Likewise, he told that despite of the ban on plastic in the Municipality area, the shopkeepers have been violating the orders. Very soon, the matter will also be looked upon, he said.
