Reports received late in the evening from Kurseong claim the police have arrested Kurseong Giddaypahar GTA Sabha member and senior GJM leader Anit Thapa. The charges against him are reportedly from the earlier agitation period of the GJM and he has been implicated in a number of non-bailable cases. A large number of party supporters were seen gathered at Kurseong Police Station late Monday evening demanding the immediate release of Thapa. Meanwhile, the police have declined to comment on the matter. (EOIC)
