CPRM spokesperson Govind Chettri, “The
GJAC was formed with the motive of achieving a separate state, but as
the GJM is showing no interest towards the aspiration of the people, we
will decide on the next course of action at an upcoming meeting.
The three hill legislators, namely Rohit Sharma from Kurseong, Harka Bahadur Chettri from Kalimpong and Trilok Dewan from Darjeeling, are expected to meet the chief minister on October 24 when she visits the hills.
Commenting on this, Chhetri said the GJM has been compelled to surrender before the state government to save its political identity and it believes that sticking on with the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration will help the party in this regard.
“There is no question of sitting for a meeting with the GJM as it is more interested to run the GTA than make an all-out fight for Gorkhaland," Chettri said.(EOI)
