Kurseong, 30 October
Despite the GJMM chief, Mr Bimal Gurung encamping in Kurseong, the exodus from GJMM to Trinamul Congress continues unabated in the sub-division.
Mr Gurung has been encamping in Kurseong town since 28 October to arrest the trend. He is now busy holding meetings with different affiliates, representatives and others to stop the TMC from denting into its rank and file.
Putting a brave face, Mr Gurung said the people are still with him.
Nullifying the boast, several hundred people from GJMM have today joined the TMC by receiving party flags from its Hill unit’s general secretary, Mr N B Khawas in Kurseong.
Mr Khawas claimed that 25 families from Margaret’s Hope Tea Estate loyal to GJMM and CPRM have joined his party today. Besides, 21 families from Mahanadi have also joined the TMC.
The exodus happened from Majuwa Busty too, he claimed.(SNS)
