In a press statement on behalf of
Parents Body of Delhi unit of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha Delhi unit has said
that
the judgment passed by the apex court in the slain leader Madan Tamang’s
case
is very balanced, well thought out and they welcome the findings of the
court. The incident was very unfortunate and we feel
extremely sorry that the veteran leader lost his life. However, a sense
of generalization at the
pre-trial stage that GJM is involved and responsible for whatever
happened is wrong
and it would be pre-mature to form an
opinion said Ranjan Sharma, General Secretary of Delhi unit. There is a
preconceived opinion formed by anti
GJM elements that Morcha is involved but this is a completely false
opinion. It is too early to jump to conclusions, the
investigation is now being observed, the highest court has taken
cognizance so it
is not correct to jump the gun and point direct fingers at GJM said
Ranjan. The
Supreme Court has heavily come down upon the police for showing total
sluggishness
in the investigation process. Regarding the transcripts of phone
conversation the Supreme Court has said that for the sake of
investigation
it deserves consideration however it should not be taken to mean that
the court
has expressed any opinion either as to existence of transcripts or
otherwise the
truthfulness of its contents, the authenticity awaits the outcome of
forensic
report as submitted by the CBI in their Affidavit. Ranjan says that till
the forensic
report arrives on judicial record and the genuineness of the transcript
is proved,
no inference can be drawn. However,
reading the 18 page judgment in totality the Hon’ble Supreme Court has
nowhere
categorically expressed dissent or any kind of resentment nor made any
adverse
observations against GJM. We have full
faith immense in the judiciary and the wisdom of the highest court in
passing
this judgment, but at this stage blind folded generalization merely on
the
basis of hearsay evidence that GJM is involved is wrong and false. The
matter
is sub-judice and now been transferred to Principal District &
Sessions
Judge , Kolkata , the Court has directed
Joint Director to monitor the
investigation so let us wait for the final outcome. We must allow the
law to
take its course, as we have a robust and an independent judiciary so it
is no
point in misleading the public by targeting GJM, suggested the parents
body of
Delhi GJM
