Ghising to return to Matigara home on 7 Nov

The GNLF Kurseong branch spokesperson, Mr Daya Dewan, today confirmed that their supremo Mr Subash Ghising, would return to his rented residence in Matigara on 7 November. The statement from the party leader came against the backdrop of the rumour mill remaining active, spinning stories of the former paramount leader being critically ill.
He is now in Chennai for some pathological tests. He was taken ill as his blood pressure was found plummeting.
He was admitted to a private hospital in Siliguri twice in a fortnight.
Ascribing the rumour to some quarters bent on demoralising the rank and file of the GNLF, Mr Dewan said the leader is now in perfect health.
“His opponents have nothing to rejoice over. He is as well as a person of his age can be. He talked to a leader based here over phone, stating that he is well and asked us not to give credence to the rumours, doing rounds in the Hills. We believe, such rumours would further add to the span of his life,” he added.
After Mr Ghising returns his party might stage political shows in the Hills, particularly in the Kurseong sub-divisional area that has remained his strongholds despite everything happening in the political space. However, whether Mr Ghising would be able to lead the party programmes from the front as is expected by his lieutenants is uncertain.(SNS)
