Darjeeling.2 Dec 2013: CPM
politburo member Sitaram Yechurey is scheduled to visit Darjeeling on
Tuesday to participate in the ‘Saran Sabha’, a programme organised in
memory of former chief minister Jyoti Basu and CPM politburo member late
Ratan Lal Brahmin (Maila Bajey).
Yechurey will be accompanied by Left
Front convener Ashok Bhattacharya and former Darjeeling MP Saman Pathak.
The meeting will be held at the newly built Gorkha Dukha Niwarak
Sammelan (GDNS) hall. Although the CPM Darjeeling district committee has
invited all political parties excluding the Trinamool Congress and BJP,
the GJM and CPRM have decided not to attend the meeting. (HS)
