The
Nepal Tourism Board conducted a meeting at the Siliguri Journalist Club
this afternoon. It was presided over by Nepal Tourism Board senior
manager Lila Bahadur Bania. The members announced the 3rd Eastern
Regional Tourism Fair-2014 will be organised at Damak in Jhapa.
The event will aim at identifying Nepal as a tourist destination, promoting domestic tourism, spreading awareness about improved living standards in villages and imparting knowledge and information about tourism. The fair will be opened to invitees on January 30 and to the public thereafter free of charge.
Notably, the New York Times recently listed Nepal as one of the 52 global destinations that one must visit. Kathmandu in particular has been voted as the number one upcoming destination in Asia and number three in the world by Tripadvisor based on consumer surveys.
As many as 39 institutions from various regions of Nepal are expected to participate in the fair. The Nepal Tourism Board strongly believes the Eastern Regional Tourism Fair-2014 will be a good platform to present and promote unidentified tourism heritages spread all over the country to the world.
