Pradip Lohagun: The
Calcutta High Court today denied bail to the accused in the murder of
ABGL leader Madan Tamang. A bench of two judges comprising Shubro Kamal
Mukherjee and RK Bagh rejected the bail pleas put forward by defence
lawyer Sekhar Basu. The bench instead ordered investigations to be
carried forward.
ABGL secretary Pratap Khati said prosecution lawyer Bhaskar Sen called him up in the afternoon to inform about the court’s decision. Expressing happiness with the development, he said the court’s decision to reject the bail applications of Alok Kantamani Thulung, Puran Thami and 13 others has added to the ABGL’s faith that justice will be delivered. He added the masterminds of the murder will soon be behind bars as the CBI has already started quizzing the top leadership of the GJM.
