In the first phase, around 200 cars and 30 bikes started from the party headquarters in Tadong covering Ranipool, Pakyong, Rorathang, Rongli, Rangpo, Duga and Singtam before ending in Gangtok.

Today was the second phase, with the rally starting from Tashi View Point in Gangtok. The cavalcade will travel to Dzongu in North Sikkim and return back to the party headquarters. The rally has been organised under the leadership of SKM general secretary MK Subba.

SKM publicity secretary Jacob Khaling said, “The rally has been initiated with an aim to galvanise people for change in the system and for freedom from the 20-long autocratic tenure of the SDF government.”

The rally is also part of the SKM’s first anniversary celebrations on February 4, slated to be held in Jorethang, he added.(EOIC)
