Raiganj, 8 January,Having failed to fulfill her commitment over AIIMS clone in Raiganj, the Union minister of state for urban development and Congress MP, Mrs Deepa Das Munshi, is now toying with the idea of ascending to the Darjeeling Hills to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha election with GJMM support, said the state library minister and senior Trinamul Congress leader from north Dinajpur, Abdul Karim Chaudhury in Raiganj while addressing his party’s women wing members today. “She knows she would be defeated if she chooses to contest from the Raiganj seat again,” he added.
“I brought the former Union information and broadcasting minister, Mr Priya Ranjan Das Munshi to Raiganj to contest the Parliamentary election from here. But unfortunately, he did nothing for the constituency. Then his wife stepped in his shoes and kept on being elected in succession, but development remained stalled. She won the seat last time, hyping the AIIMS clone. But now the AIIMS balloon having deflated, she is out to ascend to the Hills for re-election. This is why she is humouring the GJMM,” he said.
Mr Chaudury further said the party would not spare those who had collected money from the candidates of teachers’ eligibility test (TET) and also civic police, using the party’s name.
“Our leader, Mamata Banerjee is very firm on such matters,” he said.(SNS)
