Money marketing company ‘disappears’ without clearing dues

Investors into a private money marketing company have sought police assistance on finding the company’s office closed without prior notice. The closed office was spotted at the Bidhannagar area under Phansidewa police station on Tuesday night.

Local and police sources said the company, Burdwan Sunmarg, is based in Bidhannagar. Several people had invested in it with the hope of getting maximum returns. While some investors have collected their matured amounts, most others could not withdraw their sums assured even after the completion of the terms.

Some investors who visited the office on Tuesday found it locked and thus ended up at the Bidhannagar outpost. Police sources said a written complaint is yet to be lodged and the total loss incurred has not been estimated either. The matter is being investigated, added the sources.(EOI)
