The
hill unit of the Trinamool Congress today said a hill-based candidate
will be fielded for the upcoming elections. Hill TMC president Rajen
Mukhia said the party leadership should appreciate and honour the MP
from the hills and also give him an opportunity at the state level. He
hoped of getting support from other hill based parties in the days to
come. Mukhia said the hill region has produced several MPs in the past,
now the time has come to produce a minister.
Mukhia said the TMC wants to undertake
development works in the hills. Several prevailing problems including
that of water supply and unemployment will be addressed by the TMC going
forward.
The hill TMC submitted a deputation to
Mirik BDO Pushpadoma Lepcha appealing for transparency in works being
carried under the MGNREGA scheme.(EOIC)
