The security has been intensified in
Siliguri and adjoining areas over the BJP prime ministerial candidate
and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Siliguri on Thursday
morning. He is scheduled to address a public meeting, organised to
gather support for BJP’s Darjeeling parliamentary constituency candidate
SS Ahluwalia, at Pachkelgudi ground in Khaprail area near here. The
local police and intelligence departments are engaged to ensure maximum
security for the BJP prime ministerial candidate.
To minimise the chances of any chances
of any mishap during the public meeting, the police administration has
arranged a special bullet proof speech box for Modi.
According to district BJP sources, after
arriving at the Bagdogra Airport Modi will reach Pachkelgudi ground
aboard a helicopter and leave soon after delivering his speech.

chief Bimal Gurung and its general secretary Roshan Giri, Kamtapuri
People’s Party senior leader Atul Roy, BJP Darjeeling candidate SS
