Addressing an election rally in Gyalsing
today SKM president PS Golay called SDF chief and Chief Minister Pawan
Chamling an “anaconda” who has swallowed up Sikkim’s “rivers, forests,
lands and the future of the state.” In a satirical comparison of
Chamling to the reptile Golay said, “The anaconda that was born 20 years
ago has savoured on people’s money and has grown enormous in size now.
His hunger has not died even after eating so much. This anaconda is sure
to ruin our Sikkim and the people must remove him from his chair on
April 12, 2014.”
Golay alleged the SDF government has
kept West Sikkim sidelined from the mainstream. He also announced
several schemes for development of west district that the party shall
implement if elected to power. Golay assured if the SKM comes to power a
wild life project will be initiated here along with establishment of a
forest college. He assured promotion of tourism, infrastructural
development in the field of education, health and transport. He also
said the SKM government will provide special economic packages for the
district, once formed.
In the meantime as many as 450 people
from various places under Yangthang constituency and another 520 people
from Gyalsing-Bermek constituency today joined the SKM as claimed by
party’s publicity secretary Jacob Khaling. The new cadres were welcomed
into party by PS Golay and TN Dhakal. (PR)(EOI)
