A class XI student who claimed he was in trouble, has gone missing from Siliguri.
While family members of Prashant Kalyani (16), a resident of Maneybhanjyang in Darjeeling, have filed a missing diary at the Pradhan Nagar police station, police said they have started investigating the matter.Kalyani had been living in a rented house in Gurung Busty, Siliguri, for the past two months and pursuing education in an English medium school.
“He went missing on 18 May. He informed his elder brother that he would be
visiting a temple that day. He left the house but did not return. He did not go to Maneybhanjyang either. We have inquired with persons whom Prashant may have contacted or visited, but all the answers were in the negative,” said an anxious Sushil Kalyani, Prashant’s father, a businessman.
According to family
members, Prashant had sent a text message to his brother Mangesh, saying that he was in trouble. “…Help me, I am helpless. Do something and please save me. I do not have time…they are too dangerous…” the SMS read, according to the family members.
“We came to know from his friends that he hardly talked with them. We failed to contact him after the text message,” said Prashant’s cousin Mahesh Kalyani.
“We have traced his mobile phone, and he is likely to be somewhere in Kolkata. Police have started an investigation,” a police officer said.(sns)
