Kalimpong town is getting a new footpath thanks to the concern of Kalimpong Municipality, Kalimpong Traffic Department and Janmukti Chalak Mahasangh. The foot path is being consturcted in a stretch of 200 meter starting from opposite side of Kalimpong town hall to Sadobato beginning. The area was the parking place for private and other vehicle, when vehicle ran on both side it created very narrow place for passenger who took risk to go to market. The road also connects to Kalimpong College and many schools which saw thousand of student everyday going and coming. Once a army vehicle killed two student in same road about 15-20 years ago. 'Seeing the danger we had a talk with Kalimpong Muncipality and Janmukti Chalak Mahasangh and decided to remove the parking of private vehicle and then construct a foot path' informed Pravin Gurung OC Kalimpong Traffic Department today.
