West Bengal HS examinee delivers baby in exam hall
The first day of West Bengal higher secondary examinations went well in the district without any serious allegation from any quarter. The only worth mentioning incident took place at Baishnabnagar high school where an examinee delivered a baby during the examinations.
It is learnt from sources that NazimaKhatun, 22, a student of RajnagarHigh School was taking her examination at Baishnabnagar high school. After two hours she felt acute labour pain and delivered a baby girl in the examination hall. She was immediately rushed to local Bedrabad health centre and admitted for treatment. The examinee could not complete writing her paper.
In another incident ManasiPramanik, 19, a student of Sabdalpur high school in Chanchal had to be admitted to Chanchal sub divisional hospital after she fell ill in the examination hall. Sources informed that Pramanik gave birth to a baby and was not physically sound. Even then she was determined to take the examination and turned up at the venue.
As she was hospitalized but on her insistence arrangements were made in the hospital as she claimed to complete her paper.
District inspector of schools – secondary education (DIS – SE) AsishChoudhury said, “The first day of the HS examination was peaceful.”
The high madrassa examinations also commenced today. The regional officer (North Bengal) of West Bengal Board of Madrassa Education AsifEquebal informed that two blind examinees took their examinations with the help of writers. Two pregnant examinees of Maharajnagar high madrassah in Ratua II block wrote their papers at Pukhuria health centre under medical supervision.
“A visually impaired examinee of Sukrabari high madrassa SakhinaKhatun took examination without hassle at ChanduaDamaipur high madrassah with the help of a writer. Another blind examinee Akbar Ali of Mohammediah high madrassah too took examinations from DariapurBaishi high madrassah with the help of a writer,” Equebal said. (EOIC)
