The Kalimpong municipality chairman and the first IAS from the
Gorkha Community, Lalit Bahadur (L.B)Pariyar (77) breathed his last today at a
private hospital in Siliguri.
Later, his body was bought back to his Eastman Road residence in Kalimpong.
Born on 21 June in 1937, Pariyar passed the IAS exam in 1963. He superannuated in 1995 after serving in different government posts throughout the
country.
He was a member of the GJMM study forum ~ the think tank of the party ~ and played a vital role in giving cerebral tinge to the party’s programmes.
He was elected as the chairman of Kalimpong municipality in 2011.
