What is next after class 10? by Kamal Bhujel, Research Scholar Mizoram University

Education plays a vital role in the development of any society. Intellectual advancement leads society to the higher standard with other mainstream civilization. Life’s standard of the citizen of particular place manifests the standard of education of that place or vice-versa. Now, mainly due to privatization of the education, the real essence of education has gone into disguise. There was a time when people use to get education for the overall development of an individual or indeed to create a real human-being. But now it is becoming only a medium to get into some profession specially trend is being set to get more than six digits in the salary.
In backward society like ours, most of the Elite class is the first generation from us, who always tries to get uplifted more and more leaving the whole mass behind the gloomy world. So, we need “mass-up-liftment” in education not individual one only. Single individual cannot be much fruitful as they go away from the society and get settled with advanced society instead of guiding his own society.
So, learning is a never ending process, and getting a quality higher education for the poor should not be a luck by chance but they should have right to access it”. Being a good human being and a good professional at the same time is tedious task now. As there are scarcity of jobs available people are forced to do the work which are not of their interest. Unemployment, job-satisfaction, work load everything matters a lot in developing a well human being and a healthy society. So, choosing a right profession and preparation is the crucial and decisive turning point in one’s life. In our case right guidance is hardly available. So, culture of long-vision should be cultivated among us. Despite of all problems and difficulties we have to manage to aim at the right target.

10th Board exam becomes the milestone to architect the individual’s future and that of the society.
