Lauding the West Bengal chief minister, GJM legislator and spokesman Harka Bahadur Chettri said she had realised that the Darjeeling problem was one of non-development and giving identity to the Gorkhas.
"And thus a tentative solution has been reached," he said.
"Her movement is 'maa, mati, manush' (mother, land, people). Even ours is that," he said while speaking in favour of the motion moved on the governor's address.
"We will definitely reach a solution and hope justice will be done," he said.
On June 7, the GJM put aside its demand for a separate Gorkhaland state and agreed to a new hill council with more autonomy in a bipartite agreement signed with the West Bengal government.
