"Whatever happened was all past. I have buried the differences with the club and currently focusing on developing football in the country," Bhutia, who owns the United Sikkim Football Club, said after the felicitation.
The former Indian skipper could not attend Mohun Bagan's centenary celebration of their IFA Shield victory in 1911 on July 29 where the club had honoured the 39 former captains beginning with Sailen Manna from 1955.
Recollecting his stint with the green and maroon brigade, the 34-year-old said: "The Federation Cup win (in 2008) will remain the most satisfying moment. But it feels sad that we could not win an I-League with them".
In the 2008-09 season, despite a 10-match winning streak, Mohun Bagan finished second place behind Churchill Brothers because of a final day loss to Mahindra United in the I-League.
Bhutia finished the season with six goals. But the Sikkimese forward in May 2009 announced he would quit Mohun Bagan after the club management questioned his professional commitment, suspending the star striker for six months.
Bhutia later switched allegiance to his old club East Bengal.
He further said, "My focus at the moment is on youth development. I am also looking forward to agood showing against Pakistan in the three-match tour in England beginning in the final week of August".
